Dear Colleagues,
It is pleasant to meet you once again through this editorial. At the outset I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for all the readers for their overwhelming patronage to this journal. I take this opportunity to thank all those who had extended their encouragement and support to me in this venture. The journal had been accessed more than 10,000 times from various parts of the world since the time the issue was online.
I take pride to announce that our journal is now one among the extensive portfolio of well-read medical journals published by Wolters Kluwer Health's Lippincott Williams & Wilkins brand. As per my personal conversation with Mrs. Karen Abramson, President & CEO and Neil Schmidt, Vice President of Global operations, Wolters Kluwer have given their word that our journal articles will soon be accessed worldwide through "OVID".
The journal is currently indexed with EBSCO Publishing's Electronic Databases, Google Scholar, Health and Wellness Research Center, Health Reference Center Academic, Hinari, Index Copernicus, OpenJGate, SCOLOAR, SIIC databases, and Ulrich's International Periodical Directory. The office bearers and the editorial board members are leaving no stone unturned to list this journal soon in the PubMed. I hope with all of your support, the journal will soon achieve this.
I thank all the authors for their trust and belief in our journal. As there is a huge backlog of manuscripts pending, I am trying my level best to publish only the most relevant articles with highest quality. I request all authors to submit original research/clinical work. As Prof. Moos has rightly stated, research in clinical/hospital setting is as important as the laboratory studies since it clarifies several unresearched questions for the practicing clinicians. End use of scientific knowledge is what every journal aims to achieve. Rare case reports or novel surgical approaches are eye-openers. Articles substantiating evidence-based surgical practice are encouraged. Similarly, articles with contemporary interests and futuristic hypotheses are welcome.
Last but not the least, I thank all the reviewers who are spending their quality time for the peer-review process of our AMS. They had been our pillar of support.
I am extremely thankful to Prof. Khursheed Moos who has enlightened us on the role of the reviewer and scope of a quality journal.
I hope that AMS will continue to meet the necessity and expectation of Maxillofacial Surgeons and allied specialists.
